Upcoming Wellington & Auckland masterclasses
The fabulous Cameron Rhodes is giving two professional development workshops in Wellington (17 May) and Auckland (18 May). The Impulse, Vocal Tune Up And Connection Workshops will focus on connecting impulse and instinct with breath, voice and script. This is will be an exciting and invigorating workshop, with stimulating exercises and techniques that you can apply to rehearsal, performance and teaching.
FREE FOR EQUITY MEMBERS AS A BENEFIT OF MEMBERSHIP. Names will be chosen by ballot (lucky draw).
Actors who can travel to Wellington are advised to register for the Wellington workshop too, since Auckland classes are always oversubscribed.

Dynamic Equity member duo Shadon Meredith and Amelia Reid-Meredith direct Goodbye My Feleni, starring the next generation of Pasifika powerhouse acting with Taofia Pelesasa, Samson Chan-Boon, Leki Jackson Bourke, and Andy Sani.
On at The Basement from 16 - 25 April, Goodbye My Feleni pays tribute to the Pacific Island soldiers who served with the Maori Battalion in World War Two. Goodbye My Feleni explores the sacrifices a Pasifika man must sometimes make in order to fight for God, King and Country – even when its not their own. Papakura Military Camp, 1942: three enthusiastic Pasifika men are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime, only days away from joining the 28th (Maori) Battalion in Africa.

Equity welcomes legalisation of same sex marriage
NZ Actors Equity welcomes the passing of the landmark Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Bill which yesterday legalised same sex marriage. Jennifer Ward-Lealand and the National Performers Committee congratulate members of parliament for taking this important step to correct this inequality. NZ Actors Equity also wishes to thank and acknowledge all those members who worked hard campaigning for this change.
