Home Equity Committee Richard Thompson

Richard Thompson

Richard trained at the London Centre For Theatre Studies before returning to New Zealand in 2000, where he has since performed in theatre, film and TV.

Additional to acting, he continues to work as a barrister specialising in commercial litigation and hopes to utilise that legal background in his work for Equity. In particular Richard envisions actors becoming better informed of the commercial realities that surround acting. He sees the ever-growing number of low/no budget films as a particularly fertile area for actors to learn how to negotiate with and work alongside others in the industry.
