Following her masterclasses with actors in Wellington and Auckland, Equity is delighted to host "Rake" director Jessica Hobbs in conversation with Robyn Malcolm. Robyn worked with Jessica on the latest series of "Rake" so this is a great opportunity to get an insight into Jessica’s work in television. There will be questions with drinks to follow.
All screen industry practitioners - actors, writers, directors, producers and technicians - are welcome to attend on Monday March 18 from 6.30pm to 8pm. Venue: Suite 108, Ironbank, 150 Karangahape Road.

 Kick Ass Plays, written by Award Winning New York Playwright Jane Shepard is a showcase of three incredibly diverse one acts, ranging from hilarious to harrowing with awesome live original music. Starring Equity members Breigh Fouhy, Laura Irish, Christina Cortesi and Christina Devine and directed and produced by Equity national performers committee member Grae Burton.
NINE – Drama. Survive! Two Women locked in a cell fight each other with wit and words to stay alive.
FRIEND OF THE DECEASED – Black Comedy. Her cheating husband is dead, when a strange young woman arrives his widow plays a twisted game to exact her revenge.
THE LAST NICKEL – Comic Drama. Two sisters, a bed, a trombone, a host of bizarre puppets and “To Sir With Love” make a night they will never forget.

Spend a day working with Jessica Hobbs, the celebrated director of many award winning television programs. Jessica will work on different texts and all actors will have an opportunity to workshop scenes and explore different aspects of the text. Successful applicants will be sent scenes to learn prior to the masterclass. This masterclasses are free-of-charge for financial members of NZ Equity.
