Auckland Fringe: Mrs van Gogh
Galatea Theatre presents Mrs Van Gogh. Vincent's sister-in-law Johanna saved the paintings from being burned after Vincent and Theo died within six months of each other - leaving Johanna alone with a new baby, and hundreds of paintings no one will buy or exhibit. By day she runs a boarding house and saves money to crate Vincent's paintings to galleries, by night she translates the 800 letters between the brothers that are now acknowledged as some of the greatest letters in Western literature.
Starring Equity members Gina Timberlake and Mike Lowe, written and directed by Equity member Geoff Allen.
On from 27 February - 2 March at the Musgrove Studio, Maidment. Equity members pay $15 for tickets.
